Problem Background
As Greta Thunberg grew up in Stockholm, Sweden she occurred a problem that was going to happen to her town. The sea levels were rising, and if they continued rising then the town might flood. Greta Thunberg then did some research on what was causing it and found out what Climate Change is. Climate Change is happening because of the pollution going into the air, some of those gasses can be carbon dioxide and methane. Things like factories and smokestacks are putting bad gases into the atmosphere and when that happens it warms up the ice caps. When the ice caps melt, they fill up the oceans because of the ice caps melting. The heat is too much for the animals that live there. When that happens, it can kill off some of the animals that live there, and when some of those animals go extinct it stops other animals from eating. Then it is a chain reaction and it ends up killing us in the end. Those are some of the many challenges that can happen because of Climate Change.
Solution Background
Greta Thunberg is working very hard fighting against Climate Change. Greta Thunberg’s thought about a solution for a long time, because at the time she was just some ordinary school girl that wanted to make a difference. So she thought and thought for a solution that could help her take action against Climate Change. Then it came to her, it was simple, just not go to school. She would not go to school every Friday and just protest on some random street. As she did this, she got more and more attention and more people to protest with her. Pretty soon she got millions of people that are protesting with her, and with all of those people following her lead, she decided to try and persuade everyone that was in high power into taking action against Climate Change.
Connections
I think that this project not only helped us with learning valuable lessons but also helped us with relizing that it does not matter how old or how young you are. Anyone can become a changemaker, all it takes is a little effort.
