Problem Background

The purpose of Braille is to help blind people read.  People used to not have online books that they could read out loud so they were not able to read.  Louis Braille was blind and knew what it was like not to be able to read.  He knew that it was terrible to not be able to read because during that point in time people loved to read.  After Louis created Braille, the blind community was so happy they could read.

Solution Background

In 1824 Louis created “Braille” a way of reading and writing for people who are visually impared.  Braille is a sheet of paper, metal, wood etc, that has a series of bumps in a pattern to create an alphabet for the blind community.  He published the first Braille book, Method of Writing Words, Music, and Songs, in 1829, at age 20.

Connections

I think Louis Braille connects with Tech For Good because he created his invention for a purpose of good not bad.  In Tech For Good we go through a series of steps to make a solution that is perfect and effective.
