As a new generation of technology and digital fabrication tools gain wider acceptance in schools, students are increasingly able to create work on par with what adults and professionals can create. Many schools are leveraging the power of these tools to create an approach we call "Client Based Learning."

In Client Based Learning, students enter into authentic design and problem-solving relationships with clients, both in and outside of school, that provide real-world opportunities for our students to apply their learning in meaningful and purposeful ways.

Client Based Learning stems from the more familiar pedagogy, Project Based Learning. The essential project design elements of PBL Works' Gold Standard Project Based Learning model such as authenticity, voice and choice, critique and revision, and public product shine brightly in Client Based Learning and allow for deep and meaningful student learning experiences.
